Socket Weld Thermowells

Socket Weld Thermowells are named for the shape of the boss that fits a standard ASME B16.11 forged fitting designed for socket welding. As the name implies, Socket Weld Thermowells are welded into socket style forged fittings and are common to steam line applications. Socket weld thermowells provide a reliable, long term welded connection with the convenience of a full penetration weld at the forged fitting.

To avoid dissimilar metal welds, these thermowells and the forged socket weld fittings to which they will ultimately be welded should be constructed of a material grade matching that of the pipe into which they are being installed.
