Ceramic Protection Tube Sensor Assemblies

Ceramic Protection Tube Sensor Assemblies are great solutions for high temperature applications common to metals manufacturing, heat treating and other high temperature applications where metallic constructions simply will not hold up. Alumina materials can be used at 3400°F (1870°C) and are frequently assembled with Noble metal thermocouple types (R, S, B, Platinel, etc.). They are somewhat gas tight, sensitive to thermal shock and can crack if one end of the tube is heated at a different rate than the other. Mullite materials can be used at 3100°F (1700°C) are typically used with base metal thermocouple types (ex: K, N, J, E). Hexoloy materials will not slump at temperatures up to 3000F (1650°C) and are often used in high temperature corrosive and erosive applications where chemical resistance and a greater resistance to thermal shock is desired.
